WFH ROUNDUP!
Remember when WFH (working from home) Friday's were something we all looked forward to? With the current state of the world, WFH is no longer a cherished end of the work week treat - it's now become the norm! Here we will share our top 5 WFH tips and tricks to make your workday productive and stylish! Who says work has to be all work and no fun?
1. Create a morning routine to replace the old work morning commute
This is essential in creating a productive WFH experience. Remember the days when our workdays often began with a bussiling/busy commute? While nobody enjoyed rush hour, the commute served as a buffer or way to put physical time and space to block out the beginning and end of each work day. In 2021, try morning yoga, a trip to your neighborhood cafe for your AM caffeine fix, or a dog-walk with your kids before everyone settles into their tasks.
2. Set strict boundaries with others in your home.
If cohabitating with roommates or significant others, make sure your day is business as usual. You wouldn’t be able to interact with them if you were in the office, WFH is no exception and could cause potential interruptions, which would lead to you being derailed from whatever it is you may be working on for the day.
3. Set strict boundaries with yourself!
You know the saying, “you are your own worst enemy”… Try not to allow new distractions that may arise, such as that pile of laundry you’ve been putting off, distract you from work. Once again, just with #2 above, these distractions wouldn’t arise at the office so don’t let them deter you at home.
4. Create a visually appealing space
Set yourself up for success! Create a space with no visual clutter and take advantage of the fact that you are WFH and spruce up your space just a tad more than you would at the office.
5. Create WFH spatial opportunities
Don’t have a spare room, or spare space in your room to convert to a WFH station? Get creative like the team at Batch did above. We turned a closet into a glam WFH moment.
