SPRING INTERIOR DESIGN IDEAS TO BRIGHTEN UP YOUR RESIDENCE
Spring is just around the corner and with it come unlimited possibilities to spruce up your space. Whereas in the winter we gravitate towards darker colors and warmer textures, spring is a good time to lighten and brighten things up. Looking for some ideas on how to update? We got you. Here are five ways to brighten up your residence for spring.
1. Blue Hue
Classic blue is Pantone’s color of the year for 2020 and this universally beloved hue is also an easy way to update your abode this spring. Since the color is super versatile you can go big or small with your interior design ideas. Looking for a new couch? A classic blue is a timeless and low-maintenance option. If you already have all your furniture in place, you can refresh your space with pops of this color. Blue and white pillows can give your place a chic nautical vibe or if you want less commitment, how about a pretty blue candle for the balmier nights to come?
2. Caned Furniture
Caned furniture (made by weaving rattan together) is making a big décor statement this spring 2020. Previously popular in the ‘70s this light and natural material is back in an array of shapes and functions. Try a caned chair in your living room or bedroom to create a rattan statement that happens to be comfortable to sit in. Caning also makes for a nice headboard for a bed or if you’re interested in just a rattan accent, then a large decorative caned bowl is beautiful to display.
3. Geometric Patterns
Make your place more vibrant by adding a geometric pattern to your aesthetic. Identify one spot in your apartment that you would like to draw more attention to then select a piece that will spruce up the area. A super easy choice would be a geometric throw that you can rest on your couch. It’s eye-catching but low commitment.
4. Olive Trees
Bring Mediterranean vibes into your home by having an olive tree in your residence. These plants are relatively low maintenance as in nature they live without water for months at a time. You’ll have to find a balance between sun exposure and shade — too much exposure gives them a sunburn but they also don’t thrive in the shade — try to find a middle ground. Also, your plant will love a little air and in turn, it of course helps purify your air indoors as well.
5. Tropical Vibes
Warmer weather almost feels like a vacation so we like to bring tropical into our home to match the rising temperature. A popular motif is a leafy palm tree print which can easily be attached to a wall or inside a closet. Other easy decorative items to add are ceramics (pineapples are always fun) or pieces that evoke the ocean. You can also update your bar cart with some island favorites — think Caribbean rum or a mango liqueur like Somrus Mango Cream.
