Retail and Operations Internship

(Based in San Francisco, CA)


Batch strives to be a pioneer in retail, blazing the trail in a whole new format of contextual commerce. We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern with a specific interest in retail and/or home decor to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures, including but not limited to, Showroom assistance, brand sourcing and partnership operations, communications / marketing and office administration. You will focus on learning how Batch runs, and can be expected to gain valuable insight that can further your interest in your chosen career field. In addition to office duties, the intern will have the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with Batch’s Executive Team.

As a growing startup, this role will prove to be multi-faceted and molded according to company needs. The candidate will need to be a self-starter who’s capable of assisting and on occasion, owning, small-scale projects, while also tackling office administration and operations tasks. Please note that the candidate should also be willing to work with the team in the transformation of the Showroom Batches. This will involve some heavy lifting, moving and cleaning.


  • Assist in preparing information and research materials for brand partnership and communication purposes

  • Take notes and memos during meetings

  • Run general industry related errands

  • Draft responses to web correspondence, social media posts, and emails

  • Research and gather documentation on company position in industry

  • Assist team in setting up, breaking down and organizing new Batches at the Showroom, as well for Showcases opportunities

  • Aid in organizing, strategizing and attending Batch events

  • Assist in maintaining visual standards of the showroom, per Batch directives

  • Assist in operational tasks such as ringing sales, receiving stock, shipping merchandise and maintaining the look of the Showroom

  • Assist team with preparation and execution of special events


  • Rising Junior or Senior student is preferred

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment at 1 or more different locations within the city

  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail

  • Great eye for design and style, with a strong awareness of current trends and ability to think outside of the box when it comes to merchandising

  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • Strong social following a plus

  • Marketing and Communications major a plus
