Director of Sales (Full-time)

Batch is a shoppable staging company focused on turning residences on the market for sale into immersive retail destinations. We were founded in 2017 to create new ways for consumers to browse and buy in a hyper-local, distributed model. Our company’s mission is to enable and empower homebuyers to purchase well-curated assortments of products from the locations they may eventually live in. We serve prospective homebuyers who visit and tour these locations for sale as well as the end purchasers. We see each location as a unique opportunity to tell a new merchandising story and connect with the makers of the coolest up and coming products. As a retailer at heart, we’re advancing a new opportunity for brands to get in front of a coveted demographic of people who have recently moved, a $170B annual market. 

Relying on our historical roots as a retail showroom with over 200 brand partnerships, we create rich and relevant connections between end purchases of new and novel products with the innovative companies that make and market these products. 

Batch derives its income from the service it provides as a home staging business to developers, agents, and home sellers. The company also monetizes through the retail sale of the products featured in its spaces. 


The Director of Sales reports to the Vice President of Sales (initially to the CEO until the VP of Sales has been hired). The Director sells into all San Francisco area multifamily developments. The position will involve time outside of the office at client offices and project sites. The Director should be capable of developing and executing against an end-to-end sales plan to increase Batch’s win rate for model homes with new condo developments in the area.

Key areas of ownership may include:

  • Set high-level strategy to expand Batch’s local market penetration of shoppable staged model homes in multi-family developments and rentals 

  • Manage the company’s relationships with real estate developers of projects > 8 residential units

  • Produce quarterly sales of staged model units in the San Francisco Bay Area

  • Own and handle ongoing communications for all multi-family opportunities

  • Develop pricing models that can increase win rate

  • Continuously benchmark contract terms around pricing, term, extensions, and relocation

  • Track long-lead projects with local planning departments and update Sales team on status

  • Partner with marketing to determine B2B needs for communicating Batch’s unique value prop

  • Provide weekly status reports on pending projects and advise Company management on macro factors impacting new housing developments in the area

  • Support the VP of Sales in developing an outreach strategy for real estate brokers and agents 

  • Train and mentor the Account Manager to best manage any pre and post-sales needs for developer clients


The Director of Sales should possess 10-15 years full-time work experience in a sales capacity. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Background and experience with real estate developers and agents

  • Strong network of local, national, and international real estate developer contacts within the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond

  • Consistent record of achieving or exceeding sales targets

  • Ability to prospect, qualify, engage, and convert with minimal supervision or direction

  • Experience with contract negotiations and ability to confidently handle objections

  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills

  • Strong knowledge of residential real estate practices

  • Expertise or a demonstrated interest in home design and staging
